Our municipality organizes an exhibition with local artists every two years. It's the Weekend van de Lubbeekse Kunstenaars - Weekend of the Artists from Lubbeek.
More than 60 creative people display their work.

from 11.00 until 18.00
at PBE, Diestsesteenweg 126
Linden - Lubbeek

This edition pays tribute to late Anita Huybens.
Visitors can bring a stone or pebble to participate in an active way to remember this artist; during the exhibition the following days a stoneman will rise. The significance of stonemen were an inspiration for Anita's work and ideas.

Flowers for peace - Fêtes de la Saint-Martin art tour

The tour started with nice autumn weather, perfect for a long walk along old narrow streets and sculptural walls.

I can't remember the wall was like this last year.

Anita Huybens' ceramic poppies are sold to support APOPO a humanitarian organisation that clears landmines.

Ceramic artist Anita Huybens is the initiator of this project against landmines. This is the new site where you can find the whole story and where future happenings will be announced.

ceramic artist Anita Huybens is an extraordinary woman.

in the course of her life she deals with difficult and hard experiences,

but she has this almost supernatural strength and willpower

to put up very successful projects to help other people.

she is able to raise a whole 'army' of enthusiastic volunteers

with this project she raises funds for APOPO
This organisation de-mines fields in Mozambique

so that local people in the villages get back their farmlands

Why poppies?

they refer to the well known symbol of the first World War

to commemorate the fallen soldiers

this is the 6th event where these ceramic poppies are sold

a 1.000 poppies are planted in a field

each one is a unique flower

for those people who are in Belgium,

the next field is on
