treehuggers greeting spring

It's official now, it is spring!  Great weather to work in the garden and renew our herb and vegetable garden.
But first I'd like to take you back to last year's visit to Copenhagen, Denmark with some unpublished pictures that are inspiring just now.

It looks dreary at the end of winter, but soon the neighbourhood will gather again to put new life into ...

Sunday in our garden ... the weather is promising.  Still freezing at night, in the morning the grass is crispy with frosted dew, but the sun is out and ready to bring everything in bloom.  Time for new herbs in the garden and built small fences to protect them from the pheasants. 

Later on we spot two deer running along the hedge, mmmmh... we might have to build higher fences.

Still a lot to do but soon we'll be able to cook outside again and use our own fresh produce for tasty meals.

Jacques Dujardin with vegetal work behind glass.  Quite a few years ago we visited his studio in Tervuren (I didn't take pictures back then).  We had a nice conversation about his interesting art.  He does work with animal fat, if my memory does not trick me, and this made me link the next work of art to him although it is signed by another name (but same site).

same here ... I love it.  Yes, I put a note for an exchange offer, but some of them are so valuable and interesting I can't compete.

This kind of work keeps catching my attention.  I've come accross her work at a few occasions and I'm always drawn to it.  View more posts in the 'search this blog' on top right of page.

We're still at Montauban-Buzenol (see previous post) and walk up a hill to discover a big installation.  On our way up we see this work remaining from last year's exhibition.  It is still in pretty good condition after the hard winter, hot early summer and extremely wet August.

We've been hiding in the woods the last days ... to discover amazing artworks.
Off to France for three days, we decided to stay an extra night.  On our way down we stopped at Buzenol-Montauban in the south of Belgium.  An appetizer of what was yet to come.

Will Beckers is one of the many selected artists for the artwalk NATURA-NATURANS, life re-emerging from death.

The installation invades the whole chapel.

This installation reminded me so much of this one in Copenhagen.  Although completely different in set up and material and resulting from a different point of view, they have a lot in common.

At the end of the long table 6 lights made with ordinary jars, inside a photo of potatoes. The look on the face of the girl in the shop when I said I just wanted to take pictures of potatoes !!!
I will now replace the pictures with ones of tomatoes, peas, beans, asparagus .... to make them colourful and I will hang them over my dining table.
