to the artists, designers and craftspeople who think I call their work kitsch... this is NOT the case, it refers to my own work

Oppression

OPPRESSION
is a work accusing oppression in any form.  Physical, political, cultural, religious, ...
Child labour, child abuse, forced marriage, slavery, honor killings, ...

Assemblage
reclaimed old wood, rusty items found in the barn and stables of our house, shards of mirror, heart shaped pebbles gathered during many walks.

The whole work consists of 35 different frames.

First display of the work in my studio.

“Oppression”

Nancy Vandenberghe

For those who want this translated through a translator on the web : the original text is Dutch.  But I'm not satisfied with the result of the translation.

Nancy Vandenbergh wrote four moving poems after seeing Oppression for the first time.  Will post them soon, but I fear they will be hard to translate.

And more pictures to come taken during other events.
