to the artists, designers and craftspeople who think I call their work kitsch... this is NOT the case, it refers to my own work

Elodie Antoine - playful textiles

Les Fêtes de la Saint-Martin at Tourinnes-la-Grosse is a fun art tour.  Farmhouses, stables, barns, small village houses, derelict garages ... invite artists during the weekends of November.

First, there is a small group of selected artists for the exhibition of contemporary art.  Second, dozens of other artists open their studios or exhibit in their friends' houses.

Curator of the contemporary art exhibition Elodie Antoine, with one of her installations in the stables of an old farmhouse.

One can tell by the number of pictures taken I liked this installation, looks like a golden virus is taking over the building.  By coincidence, a nasty flu got me a few days later.

les Fêtes de la Saint-Martin revisited

It' a misty and quiet Sunday, the first day that we actually feel the autumn.

We're off to go on an art tour through tiny, old villages and some cross country driving.
It's been three years since we went on this art tour for the last time.

Djack
The fog persists all day long, I quite enjoy the feeling of changing seasons.  The smell of wood burning stoves.

Artworks are scattered over different villages, private homes and gardens and a few impressive centuries old farmhouses.

and this tiny figure is haunting me ever since I saw it 10 days ago, I think it is fascinating. It keeps my mind going, wondering, inventing a story ... and leaving me with a strange mood.

meeting artists at les Fêtes de la Saint-Martin

The art tour is over now but I still have two posts about it.

Many artists, exhibiting at the art tour, are actually present on different locations presenting their work. I find it fascinating to hear them talk about their work, their influences, ...

interesting backdrop for the sculptures of ...

Globetrotter, painter, photographer and light designer Jorien next to her Jellyfish light

and I loved the colourful work of Angela Tea
even the scarf she's crocheting has the colours of her work against the wall

--------------------------------

It takes some courage of the artists to be present as some locations are not heated and the weather is getting really cold now.
