to the artists, designers and craftspeople who think I call their work kitsch... this is NOT the case, it refers to my own work

Gijs Van Vaerenbergh - the Upside Dome

In October 2010 - sorry for the delay, but we only went to see this the very last day so it wasn't important to post it immediately - the baroque church Sint-Michiel in Leuven's city centre finally got a dome, even if it was a reversed one and for only a few weeks....

It is a church that is used quite often for contemporary art and performances.

The best viewpoint to shoot the whole Upside Dome, if only I had lied down on the floor to capture the whole.  But there are far more interesting pictures - my tiny camera does have its limits - and even a 10 min. film of how it is put up HERE.

Willem Van Gool - steel and glass

Cleaning up my archives I discover unpublished pictures. I had probably too many things going on at that time. These pictures were taken during the art tour Kunst op het Hof in 2008 (use label below to view more on the tour over several years).

Robert Devriendt - miniature passion

It is quite a few years ago ... the first time I saw the intriguing miniature paintings by Robert Devriendt.  I've seen more since then, and every time they keep me fascinated, painted in such detail one keeps on wondering how he does achieve this result.  I'd love to see him at work.

Tinguely's shadow

Waking up in a fluffy, white world this morning.  I enjoy looking at the monochrome garden and fields, so different from the colourful spring, summer and autumn.  I think it is about time I publish these pictures I've taken more than a year ago in Basel, Switserland in the Tinguely museum.  Not the works ... but their shadows.  I've got this addiction...

Zjos Meyvis - fertilisation engines

One of my favorite artists ... I simply love these poetic engines.

apparaat om de lucht te kleuren - engine to colour the air *

draagbare stuifmeelverspreider - portable pollen spreader *

zuurstofrecuperator - oxygen recuperator *

* I did not find the english translation of the artworks by the artist, I took the liberty of translating them myself as the title adds poetry to the objects. My apologies if it is not done accurately.
