It's official now, it is spring!  Great weather to work in the garden and renew our herb and vegetable garden.
But first I'd like to take you back to last year's visit to Copenhagen, Denmark with some unpublished pictures that are inspiring just now.

It looks dreary at the end of winter, but soon the neighbourhood will gather again to put new life into ...

Sunday in our garden ... the weather is promising.  Still freezing at night, in the morning the grass is crispy with frosted dew, but the sun is out and ready to bring everything in bloom.  Time for new herbs in the garden and built small fences to protect them from the pheasants. 

Later on we spot two deer running along the hedge, mmmmh... we might have to build higher fences.

Still a lot to do but soon we'll be able to cook outside again and use our own fresh produce for tasty meals.

Hotel Fox - sleeping in art

21 international artists have turned 61 rooms into unique pieces of art in central Copenhagen  Each room has a distinctive and individual decoration, the furniture fitting the theme of the room. 

The front of the hotel already shows a hint of what is going on inside.

Opening the door is like stepping into an overwhelming exhibition.  And although the decoration reaches unto the ceiling and even further, the space has a peaceful atmosphere.

Graphic design, urban art and illustration.

Each door is different and will give a clue of the decoration in the room.

Each room is an individual piece of art.

brother & sister Kalhoej - painters

Cold, rainy, windy weather.  The spring is too young to show colours.  But here in a grey street a window lights up with paintings ... full of colour.  And it gets even more interesting ... in the back a woman in a red suit is painting with vigour on a large canvas.  Have to go in here ...

I love to have a peek in artists' studios.

Keld Moseholm - bronze & granite

An intriguing permanent(?) exhibition in front of the hotel - and in the restaurant - where we stayed for four days in Copenhagen.  The more we saw these endearing figures, the more we grew fond of them and started to invent stories.

Designer Zoo - pure Danish

Dzoo is a working design store in Copenhagen based on a community of 8 designers with their studios right next to the shop.  This is what makes this place so interesting.  Almost everything is made right here.

Furniture, jewelry, knitwear, glass, ceramics by Danish designers.

 

 

A great variety of colours is available for the 'homemade' tables.

Beautiful knitwear in great colours and lovely textures made right here.

Normann design

I finally got there after hours of walking through Copenhagen, I never take bus, taxi or subway, hence the blisters at the end of my stay. It was mentionned in a cityguide and it looked interesting, so here we are.  From the street it looks like a normal sized shop ... but the surprise lies in the back.  An old, well conserved Cinema Hall welcomes the latest designs from independant creators.

The room serves as a platform for great parties, fashion events, art exhibitions and other happenings.

In the center large stairs lead to the basement.

In the airy basement, clothing, shoes and more...
