The very old nails were recovered from the ashes after burning our old beams in the stove, the red colour of the nails is from the fire.

A tricky title to translate because it is a play of words, the literal translation would be nail-writing (spijker meaning nail), doesn't make any sense of course. I looked it up and in English spijkerschrift = arrow-headed script.
I did not manipulate the nails into shapes, this is the way they came out of the ashes after burning our old beams in the fire.

from shutters and roller blinds from our house, the blue pieces of wood were found on the beach.

The negative space in this piece is just as important as the positive which means its best use is to put it up as a space divider.

This wood was intended for outdoor use (shutters and rollerblinds), the metal is treated to prevent it from getting rusty.
