Luc Tuymans - Against the day

Another 'case' of seeing an exhibition on its last day and delaying the post about it. Sometimes I do have many things going at the same time and I'll post about the events that are still going on. Past events will be overlooked for some time until in time of shortage they will pop up again.


Against the Day at Wiels was the first exhibition of Luc Tuymans (B) in Brussels and presented 22 new paintings on virtual reality. We went on closing day August 2nd 2009 and so did many other people. And no, we did not attend the closing party, we had other plans.

budding jewelry designers

We found the information on this exhibition - students from three different art schools showing their work - on its very last day. Not the first time this happens, but when it does, the pictures I've taken aren't published immediately because other things have priority. After some time, the pictures are forgotten ... until I decide to organise my picture folders. In this case did they re-appear exactly a year later. It might be interesting to find out if the students have started careers as jewelry designers.

The exhibition at S.M.A.K. ends on January 10 - 2010, but "Plans d'évasion" will also be exhibited in the Institut d'Art Contemporain in Villeurbanne - France from March 11 until May 9 - 2010.
